Friday was a great day. Finally the kids are fully registered in school! YAY! So the day involved more driving and running errands. One of the trips involved a trip to get some school supplies (still not finished with that one!) So when  picking up some supplies, we picked up a few extras, and I intend on sending them in with the children to their teachers to boost the crayon, glue stick ect supplies.

Today was a hot day for us. The AC has died on the car so errand running can be rather well…….sweltering. Today also involved picking up many books and such from one house to bring to another. Perfect day for the book task! I needed to clear out some books, so not only did I leave out one book, but I did it with three books throughout my day. Even due to the nature of my errands today, two different states were involved! Left one book in one state and two books in another. Left one at a gas station by the pump, left another book on a bench outside of a hair cutting place (figure someone waiting might find that a refresher), and another was left outside on a bench at a local Target. Hopefully all three books will find happy homes.

I wanted to leave a comment for someone on  a website that I liked, so I went to a few sites that I often frequent because I like their themes, goals or concepts. However I discovered that due to the increased internet spam, many sites (like mine) have  eliminated guestbooks. Too many junk and porn bots now clutter up guestbooks so rather than deal with having to sort through all the junk many sites now simply do not have them. It is a shame. So for several sites I wanted to leave comments on, I couldn’t. I had to search through some sites, but I must say it led me to look at some sites I had never been to before and I found some new sites to intrigue me.

I did find a site to leave a comment of appreciation on. A simple acknowledgement. In having this site, I know how nice it is to know that someone sees and hears what you are saying once in a while.

I know I am not following my tasks very well. I have varied from my original path on here. I do hope to return to it, however with the changes in my life right now, I have to modify for a while.

So today I chose a task I hadn’t done in a while. I put two quarters on one of my cards and taped it to a payphone. Yes I obviously have some tasks I like to do more than others and this is one of them. It is simple, easy, and just may help someone when they really need to make a call. Sure it may also get snatched up by someone who doesn’t need it, but if so, maybe the person will read the card and think about it and do something nice themself, or perhaps maybe they need the change for something else. Either way I am ok with it.

Funny how today the task we did yesterday shows up. Seems we were one day off!

So today, yes yet another busy day…..one that I was relieved with any moment I had to opportunity to just sit still and relax for a moment.

At work, volunteers were requested to assist with something today. So I figured this was a great opportunity to step forward and do something to help out. I have to say, although it was a good thing to do, perhaps I should have thought it through more, because my plate was a little full for the day already. So lesson learned today, yes it is good to reach out and assist, but not if it is overextending yourself.

Yesterday was a running around day trying to get more things in order for our life changes. Great but hectic. However, at the end of the day, the kids and I still found time to go to the playground and throw the football some and Mom got tackled by her three kids when she couldn’t get rid of the ball.

So since we were at the playground, it was time to put out change for kids to find. Sure it wasn’t on the list, but it certainly fit into our day.

Still trying to get things settled and adjusted but had an absolutely wonderful day. My friend who had her house burn down is now in a temporary home, and had a cookout to thank the people who have helped her and her family through this tough time. So the children and I went to that to share in an afternoon of good company and lots of laughter and friendship.

 Can’t ask for anything better than that!

Today while we ran some errands, I was pleasantly suprised when we were at the post office, and my son asked if we could do one of the random acts of kindness we did at the post office a while back. I was both happy that he remembered it, and happy that he wanted to do it again. So after we bought some stamps, we tore some of the stamps from the book and put with one of the cards. I let him pick where to put the stamps and card for someone to find, and we all walked away happy.

It is wonderful when I see my children picking up the lesson of kindness and generosity.

Take flowers to a hospital ward and give them to someone who hasn’t had any visitors.

Send someone an animated greeting card on the internet.

Today has been a truly special day for me. Something especially wonderful has transpired in my life. I am feeling such gratitude and happiness.

Unfortunately there is bad side effect of this. I knew it was coming, but even when you know and expect something it doesn’t always make it any easier to digest. This side effect is going to create a very trying time in my life. But I know like everything else I have been through in life, I will get through this as well.

Today for my random act of kindness, I chose to send an animated greeting to an angel from my life. This angel sent me a wonderful email today when I really needed it. So i found a greeting that shared how special she is to her. Even when “daring” to be an angel, we need our own angels at times…and we should always let them know how appreciated they are.
